Furla: Omnichannel Digital Transformation
The company
Furla is an Italian luxury brand with a strong international presence. During the brand’s growth and expansion phase, I led the digital transformation strategy and omnichannel vision.
The challenge
Create a unified digital strategy integrating all the brand’s sales and communication channels. The objective was to build a coherent customer experience across e-commerce, physical retail and communication channels, during a phase of rapid international expansion.
The approach
E-commerce and retail integration
The first step was integrating e-commerce systems with retail systems, creating a unified view of the customer and inventory. This meant connecting different technology platforms, aligning operational processes and building cross-channel data governance.
Customer data unification
Customer data unification was the key to a credible omnichannel experience. Salesforce CRM became the central collection point, integrating online and offline touchpoints into a unified customer profile.
Without unified data, omnichannel remains a slogan. With unified data, it becomes a measurable competitive advantage.
International coordination
International expansion required coordinating distributed teams across markets with different needs. Multi-language, multi-currency, local compliance, market-specific communication preferences: every variable required adaptation without losing brand coherence.
Multi-language and multi-currency support
The technology infrastructure was designed to support expansion into new markets without rebuilding from scratch. Multi-language management, multi-currency processing and scalable localization processes enabled entering new markets with controlled time and cost.
The technology
- CRM: Salesforce for unified customer data management
- E-commerce: omnichannel platform integrated with retail
- Infrastructure: multi-market, multi-language, multi-currency architecture
- Integration: connection between online and offline systems
The results
The digital transformation strategy created a coherent customer experience across all brand channels. Data unification improved personalization capability and conversion. International coordination enabled scalable expansion without fragmenting the brand experience.
Key takeaways
- Real omnichannel requires data unification, not just system unification
- Internationalization complexity is underestimated: every market has its own rules
- Coordinating international teams requires clear processes and shared governance
